Coastal Currents is a broad based arts festival, co-produced by Creative Coast and Home Live Art. For the last 3 years, Joule has provided production management support. Joule is looking forward to working on the next Festival in 2017.
Free and accessible to all, this festival takes place in various public spaces around Hastings and St Leonards encompassing performance, live events, films, exhibitions and site specific works.
The finale to 2014’s festival- “the most wide-ranging, eclectic and exciting year yet”- was Frank Boelter’s ‘To The World’s End’, featured in the photos here. With the help of the public, a little imagination and a large quantity of Tetra Pak packaging paper, German artist Frank Boelter, uses the familiar paper-folding technique of origami to create a large, lifesize boat. The result is simple and charming if not a little precarious!
